Russian Flagship Programs - American Councils
The Overseas Russian Flagship provides undergraduate students enrolled at Domestic Russian Flagship programs an opportunity for intensive, full immersion professional language training and development, as well as direct enrollment at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Overseas Program also accepts a limited number of post-BA and graduate students, working professionals, and heritage speakers already at the Advanced-Mid or Advanced-High language level.
The CLS Program - Critical Language Scholarship Program
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a fully funded summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. With the goal of broadening the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and building relationships between the people of the United States and other countries, CLS provides opportunities to a diverse range of students from across the United States at every level of language learning.
The CLS Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State.
American Council of Teachers of Russian
The American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR) was founded in 1974 as an association of language and area professionals involved with Russian language, literature and linguistics. Membership is open to all persons with an interest in the study and teaching of the Russian language.
Boren Awards for International Study
Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
