In patriarchally dominated Russia, it might've come quite a surprise if just a couple years ago someone were to talk to you about "feminist poetry" as a growing phenomenon in modern Russian literature. However, recently the 2010s have seen a rise in LGBT+ and feminist oriented poetry being produced as a cultural trend in newer generations of Russian writers. The first anthology of Russian feminist and queer poetry, selected by Galina Rymbu, and edited by Eugene Ostashevsky and Dartmouth's own Professor Ainsley Morse, is scheduled to be published in Isolarii later this fall. To read more about this anthology and even catch a sneak-peak of two of its poems check out this link to an article written in The Calvert Journal here.
